Saturday July 20th - the Condor "Liberation" Ferry from Poole to Guernsey

We were up at 4:15 am, in the car by 5 am, and at the Ferry by 5:30. Then a long wait to get on. We took three cars to Guernsey on the Ferry - Mike & Win's car, plus Lawrence & Natalie's two cars.

We drove the cars onto the Ferry, and then went to our (assigned) seats in the "Horizon Lounge" (we'd paid a minimal fee to get seats with tables at the front of the ship ..."

From their website: Condor Liberation is a sleek and efficient high-speed trimaran, and the newest addition to our fleet. Liberation entered service in March 2015, the first of its kind to operate in Northern Europe, carrying up to 245 cars and 880 passengers between the UK, Jersey and Guernsey.
Condor Liberation heralds a new era of travel, with its modern design and superior onboard experience and facilities.
There’s a choice of 3 seating options. Your fare includes a pre-assigned airline style seat in the Ocean Traveller cabin, or you can upgrade to Horizon Lounge with its panoramic views and choice of at-table or reclining seat, or for ultimate comfort to Club Class – a private lounge with leather reclining at-table seats and steward service.

The start of the journey was pretty fun

Mike & Win had a pair of seats together

We were originally reserved as the two families, but we let the four kids sit at the fancy table. The ride was pretty rough - Briony felt it first, by the end Ali, Win, and Natalie were all feeling pretty sick.

Several of us went out to the back of the ship. It was windy!!

We saw this cruise ship just off the Guernsey Coast

We went straight from the Ferry to Red's uncle Peter's house. Lawrence, Sharon (David's wife), and Red's cousin David

Mike & his brother Peter

Peter gave us the all-important tide tables from his newspaper. It's important to plan on going to the beach at low tide.

Eventually we made it to the rental house. It's got room for 10, and there are 10 of us, so we only just fit. More pictures of the house later, but I'll end this blurb with a picture of the kids in "our" heated pool - very nice!!
